Thrissur Pooram Festival - For the enlightenment about the great traditions and cultural heritage of the land of Kerala, the enthusiastic tourists must never miss the Thrissur Pooram Temple Festival held in the temple premises for 36 hours non-stop! Ten other deities namely Paramekkavu, Tiruvambadi, Kanimangalam, Karamukku, Choorakkattukara, Laloor, Ayyanthole, Neithilakavu, Chembukkavu and Panamukkampilly also offer their prayers to their chief deity of Thrissur. The two-century old practice of Thrissur Pooram celebrations is held between the months of April and May that is participated by the large gatherings from every cast, creed and religion.

The spectacular extravaganza of religious festivity is held at the Sri Vadakumnathan Temple of Thrissur and the adjacent ground known, as Thekkinkadi Maidan is the venue of various functions, rituals, sports and other events.

There are numerous exhibitions that are held in the precincts of temple premises. These exhibitions present the traditions and rich heritage of Kerala.
