Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive at the international airport of Delhi and our representatives will help you out at the airport after the traditional welcome and reach you to the hotel for check in.
The city of Delhi is the capital of India and has managed successfully to combine in the folds of modern and traditional way of life. According to the mythological cities, it was known that Indraprastha, the great city of Hindu classic Mahabharata, once flourished around 5000 BC in Delhi city. There were a number of kings who ruled the city and have built many great monuments over centuries.
Day 02: Delhi – Mandawa (6hr – 260 km)
We start with our drive to Mandawa today, in the semi-arid Shekawati region. The name is driven from the Rao Shekha the king who ruled this region in 14th century. This is a wonderful place with the Mandawa fort that was built in 1755. During the time of King Thakur Nawal Singh, the town of Mandawa was founded and prepared by rich and main silk route merchants of the town. These rich merchants constructed many Mansions (Havelis), Cenotaphs (Chhatris), Step-walls (Baolis) and temples with flowery paintings in worship of the walls, which are now given the name open-air gallery. Over a period of time the merchant families migrated to other place and these monuments still remain in total darkness. Visiting this place is like stepping in a whole new world as the place is still very charm.
Day 03: Mandawa – Bikaner (4hrs – 160 km)
Today’s tour would cover the region of Shekhawati. The region is known for unique paintings on the walls and ceilings of the Havelis. Your visit would be to the main Haveli called Goenka Haveli that was built in 1885 and is the heart of the perfect paintings and designs. Other Haveli visits would be Choudaharia Haveli known for extreme decorations and holds a rare erotic painting, the Gori Shankar Haveli where you can have a glance at the mirrored arial mosaic ceiling and the Singhania Haveli which has treasured paintings of Radha and Krishna.
After the Haveli visit we drive to Bikaner city that was founded by Rao Bikaji in 1488. He was the son of Jodhpur city founder and was the man who turned barren land of Jungladesh to today’s Bikaner.
Day 04: Bikaner – Khimsar (3hrs – 150 km)
Today would be a visit to the Junagarh Fort in Bikaner that was built by the 6th ruler of Bikaner Raja Rai Singhji. The fort is constructed with red sandstones and marbles with cabin and balconies that add to the beauty. We then move to Lal Garh Palace, which is an architectural marvel constructed with red sandstone by Maharaja Ganga Singh. This is truly an outstanding example of pure Rajput warrior fort that was later redesigned by Sir Swinton Jacob of England.
From Bikaner we drive to Khimsar, which is on the outskirts of Thar Desert. There is a unique fort at Khimsar that remind us the great battle of the old times. The fort was constructed by Thakur Onkar Singh in 1940s and today the Khimsar fort is among the classified heritage hotels of India. On the way we halt at the Rat Temple at Deshnok and fort of Maharaja Ajay Singh.
Day 05: Khimsar – Jaisalmer (6 hrs – 240 km)
We drive to Jaisalmer city today. It was founded in 1156 by Rawal Jaisal of Bhatti Rajput. The city was an important trading center in the past because of its strategic location which was carried on by camel trade route and even today it is described as Golden City. You can have a great time in the Havelis of Jaisalmer that were built by merchants of 19th century with golden-yellow sandstone and are still preserved for you.
Day 06: Jaisalmer
Today, we would go to the old town of Jaisalmer and the Jaisalmer Fort. Rawal Jaisal built the fort in 1156 and the town is located on a small hill of 80m. This is the only living fort in India and within its parapet there is a network of lanes that can be dotted by some beautiful Havalis, palaces and temples.
Day 07: Jaisalmer
We will take you today to the Patwon Ki Haveli. This Haveli is one of the most complex and outstanding Havelis’ of Jaisalmer and also acts as the renowned architectural wealth of India. We then will take you 40kms away from Jaisalmer to Sam for a camel ride when the sun is setting.
Day 08: Jaisalmer – Osiyan (6hrs – 240 km)
We visit Osiyan city today, which is located in-between Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. The city is most famous for the Jain Temples. In the ancient times, the Jain community dominated the town and so there are a lot of Jain temples of eye-catching quality. There are a total of 16 temples of historic importance. Second half day visit would be to the famous Jain temple called Mahavira Temple, which was built in 775 AD. Sachiya Mata Temple is also a famous Temple of the 8th century, which is now known as Indrani temple. The very finely sculpted arches give the entrance to the temple.
Day 09: Osiyan – Excursion to Jodhpur (1hr – 60 km)
We move on today to Jodhpur- the desert city which is the 2nd largest city of Rajasthan. The trip would include a visit to the huge Mehrangarh fort on a rocky ridge that was founded in 1459. There is a museum in the fort that is equipped with collection of palanquins, royal cradles, elephant saddle, miniatures, furniture and costumes of the kings. We also ride to Jaswant Thada, which is a white memorial of 1899.
Day 10: Osiyan – Kumbalgarh (7hrs – 255 km)
Today we go to Kumbalgarh and this is the most inspiring journey. This is a nature’s paradise with forests and wildlife. We also visit the 15th century Ranakpur Jain temple. This is a huge temple with 4 supplementary shrines, 24 pillared halls and eligibly domes with 400 columns. Kumbalgarh is a place that is steeped with history and rich in wildlife.
Day 11: Kumbalgarh – Udaipur (2hr – 100 km)
The city of Udaipur was founded in 1568 by Maharana Udai Singh. The great kingdom of Mewar of Maharana Udai Singh is considered respectable among all princely states of Rajasthan. The suit of Udaipur is rightly chosen for their natural beauty, plentiful water and natural protection and is nestled in the surroundings of 3 lakes giving it the right name ‘City of lakes and palaces’. Udaipur is considered the romantic city of India with the palaces giving a perfect-mirrored image in the lake waters.
Day 12: Udaipur (full day tour)
Today, we glance over the city palace. The buildings around are constructed by many Maharanas. The glory of the palace starts from the entrance Tripolia Gate at the north, which will bring us to the center courtyard. We then visit the Sahelion Ki Bari, an ornamental garden that was built by Sangram Sing as a sign of fond love for his daughter. The garden is full of fountains, pools and decorated with chiseled spectator area and sculptured elephants. We later visit the Jagdish temple of 1651 AD, which is the most beautiful temple of Udaipur. We can also enjoy a boat ride on the Pichola Lake.
Day 13: Udaipur – Jaipur
After a healthy breakfast on the 13th day of Luxury Palace Tour of Rajasthan, we move to Jaipur that’s called the Pink City and the capital of Rajasthan. The city is full of colourful past with tales of valor and bravery the city is now and important heritage of India. During the tour we visit Amber Fort, the complex palace that is situated on a hill and the elephant ride will help us reach there.
We then move to city palace. The palace is constructed with a seven-storied building in the center with fine view of the gardens and Jaipur city. We then tour the Jantar Mantar a solar observatory and after the visit we move to Hawa Mahal called palace of winds. This is five storied building built with pink sandstone in 1799.
Day 14: Samode – Bharatpur (5hr – 195 km)
After our timely breakfast we move to Bharatpur, the city founded by Maharaja Suraj Mal in 1733. We visit the bird sanctuary of Bharatpur, which is today known as Keoladeo National Park. There is Hindu temple in the center of the park from which the name Keoladeo is driven. The sanctuary includes around 364 species of birds along with rare Siberian Cane that was once recorded in the park.
Day 15: Bharatpur – Agra via Fatehpur Sikri
Today while on our way to Agra, we visit Fatehpur Sikri -the Ghost capital. This was the political capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 to 1585. It was then abandoned due to lack of water. We then visit Emperor Akbar’s residential palace, his mosque and tom of Salim Chisti. We then continue our trip to Agra. This was the capital of Mughal Emperors from 1526 – 1628 and is still a major tourist destination, because the kings have contributed in the famous architectures like the Taj Mahalm Agra fort and Fatehur Sikri.
Day 16: Agra – Delhi
Today we visit the eternal symbol of love the Taj Mahal on the banks of river Yamuna. We then visit Agra Fort that was won by the Mughal Emperor Akbar from the Lodhis in 16th century. Further we move to Akbar’s tomb called Sikandara, which was completed by his son Jahangir in the year 1613.
After the Agra visit we move to Delhi and on the way we halt at Mathura and Vrindavan that are related with birth and childhood of Lord Krishna. We also visit the Shri Krishna Janmabhumi Temple where a stone slab marks the birthplace of Lord Krishna. There is also Bankey Bihari Temple in the area, built in 1864 and the temple is famous for black stature of Lord Krishna. We then visit a temple devoted to Lord Krishna, his beloved Radha and his brother Balaram and his, which is called ISKCON. We then continue our trip to Delhi and further move to the Airport.
