The best time to travel to Nagaur is during the annual cattle fair held in January and February. Here the cattle are decorated and various cultural events are held. There is a Tarkeen Dargah which is one of the holy places for the Sufis and is said to be associated with miracle cures and people of all religions have faith in these institutions.
Location
Nagaur is a small town located midway between Jodhpur and Bikaner, formally known as Ahichhatrapur. Travel to Nagaur is a comfortable one as it is well connected to all the major cities by both road and rail. The nearest airport is Jodhpur which is 135 kms away. Trains connect Nagaur to cities like Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bikaner and Delhi via Merta road.

Kuchaman is another town located at the other end of the Sambhar Salt Lake. Kuchaman fort located on the top of a hill is now converted into a luxury. You could visit the lake to see the fields of salt and the migratory birds.
