Fair Overview
The Nagaur fair in Nagaur is the second biggest fair in Rajasthan and as such has secured a place of great admiration among the foreign tourists. The fair is spread over a great period of eight days and is organized during the month of January or February every year. The venue of the fair, Nagaur is the most enchanting one for the visiting guests and offers all that the Rajasthan countryside has to offer.

Being the second biggest fair in Rajasthan the Nagaur Fair offers its guests all the big and gala celebrations. The fair is home to the biggest cattle market. There are people from the nearby region who come with their bullocks, camels and horses to sell at the fair. The colorful people show off their long moustaches and colored turbans. There are at the festival an estimated 70,000 animals of the finest breed.

Another attraction of the fair is its Mirchi bazaar or the red chilly market, which is the biggest in India. Guests can also see the spices at the fair and the competitions like tug-of-war, camel races, bullock races and cockfights add to the excitement of the fair. Puppeteers, story-tellers; and exciting campfire evenings keep the guests entertained at the fair.
