Day 1
Arrive at Cochin Airport. Travel by road to
Thani Illam (18 kms from Cochin Airport)- Thani Illam
(short form of Thannikkatt Illam, family name) is the
original home of a Kerala Malayali Brahmin family.
The Hosts - Mr. T.S. Parameswaran & Mrs. S.
Saradammal- "Our main field of interest is Indian
Culture and its proximity to nature."
Cuisine- Kerala vegetarian cuisine and no liquor is
allowed inside the house.
PM: Visit Elephant Kraal (training center) to see how
elephants are trained in Kerala, India
Overnight at Thani Illam
Day 2
Visit to Nagarjuna Ayurvedic Centre.
Interaction with the doctors and if interested can opt for
an Ayurvedic Massage. Overnight at Thanil Illam
Day 3
Travel by road to Vagamon. (100 kms -3-½
hrs drive) Installation at Vanilla County.
Vanilla County Estate bungalow is over 55 years old and
is spacious with its 5000 square feet interiors. The
Estate Bungalow is set amidst 150 acres of rubber and
other spices gardens. Needless to say, it is furnished
tastefully and has spacious interiors. A variety of
Keralan delicacies and other Indian dishes are served. The
spices and vegetables used are grown within the grounds of
the estate and organically grown. The fresh filter coffee
and tea served are the offerings of the estate's own
plantations. This is also a great opportunity to stay with
a Keralan family - Baby & Rani and enjoy home cooked
food, opportunities to see organic spice, fruit and
vegetable farms, swim in a series of natural pools,
trekking, elephant rides and plantation visits, when you
travel to Kerala, India.
Day 4
Plantation visits, Trekking, Farming
activities etc on cards. Overnight at Vanilla County.
Day 5
Check out after breakfast and proceed by
road to Alleppey (110 kms -3 ½ hrs drive). Check in
at Emerald Isle.
In the beautiful waterways and backwaters of the
Kuttanad region of Central Kerala lies Emerald Isle, an

Day 6
You have a variety of options to spend the
day - Witness traditional paddy harvesting. Marvel at the
process of tapping toddy, a local alcoholic drink taken
from the coconut trees. At Emerald Isle Heritage Villa you
can also the enjoy the experience of traveling in Country
Boats through the small village canals watching the life
of village pass by you.
Or you could also visit the ancient Bhagawati temple or
the 1000 year-old Saint Mary's Church
all just
a row away. Overnight at Emerald Isle.
Day 7: Travel by road to Cochin
Check-in at Gramam
Gramam, the beautiful home of Byju and Lyma is located
on the banks of the backwaters, in Kumbalangi village
about 10 Kms on the outskirts of Kochi (Cochin). Set in
rustic, sylvan surroundings, the house is well connected
to the heritage zone of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry. This
is the ideal home for someone looking for a quiet retreat
near Kochi - not too far from the city but away from the
noise and pollution. Lyma cooks the food in true Keralan
style and there is a wide selection to choose from, in
case you decide to eat with the family. The house itself
is tiled and constructed in the Keralan style. The small
garden slopes gently away into the backwaters. The
farmland around the house has coconuts, areca nuts, and
mangoes in profusion - 12 varieties in all - pepper,
pineapple, and mangroves, besides various medicinal
plants. But the most prized possession is a 200-year-old
mango tree called "Chandanakaran" locally, which
incidentally is the biggest tree in the village, which
yyou'll see when you travel to Kerala, India.
The
rustic charm of this village ambience is sure to leave an
indelible impression as you say goodbye to Kochi - the
queen of the Arabian Sea.
Gramam offers two en-suite rooms which are tastefully
furnished and with private entry. The bathrooms have
modern plumbing and Western style toilets.

City tour of Cochin and later departure
