Travel to Kerala, India on the Kerala Sea and Spice tour.
Day 1: Arrival at Trivandrum
On your arrival at Trivandrum, Kerala, India, we transfer you to a hotel, where you can relax and spend the rest of the day at leisure. If your heart desires, you can explore the city on your own too.
Day 2: Travel to Varkala
In the morning, after breakfast we proceed towards Varkala - one of the most unspoilt beach resorts of India. Once you arrive here, you can opt to go in for body therapy too.
Day 3: Travel to Alleppey
In the morning, after breakfast we depart for Alleppey (135 kms/ 3 hrs drive approx) to embark on a houseboat for the backwater cruise. This is one of the best ways to experience Kerala villages. You will be traveling through the world famous backwaters of Kerala and even have halts to explore the villages. You will also enjoy the typical Kerala cuisine. Rest of the day and night is spent on the houseboat.
Day 4: Day at Kumarakom
In the morning, you will arrive at Kumarakom, and will be transferred to a lake resort. Rest of the day is at your disposal wherein you can relax and enjoy the surroundings on your own. Overnight stay at the resort.
Day 5: Tour Kumarakom
You will be embarking on a boat ride which will take you to the countryside, where you can visit the Bird Sanctuary. If you are adventurous enough, you can even indulge in water sports such as Wind Sailing & Water Skiing. You can even take a canoe out on the quiet lakes. Overnight at the resort.
Day 6: Travel to Periyar
On the sixth day, you will travel to Periyar - a wildlife sanctuary where you can see elephants and maybe even a tiger when you travel to Kerala, India - through mist-capped mountains, spice plantations and open grasslands lined with spectacular waterfalls & delightful trekking trails. On arrival, you check into the hotel, refresh yourself & relax. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Tour Periyar
After breakfast you can walk through the spice plantations. A boat safari on the Periyar Lake extends a lifetime's chance to spot exotic wildlife in its natural habitat. After exploring Periyar, you spend the night at the hotel.
Day 8: Travel to Munnar
In the morning, you will head for Munnar, a place which is often called a "nature lover's paradise." The whole area is covered with tea estates which look like a green carpet. On arrival, check into the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 9: Tour Munnar
Munnar has the highest peak in South India - Anamudi - which towers over 2695 m. An assortment of wild life, such as the Nilgiri Thar, Nilgiri Langur, Sambhar, Gaur and the lion tailed Macaque are found in the rich tropical forests around Munnar, which you can see when you travel to Kerala, India. Devikulam is a serene hill township where one can go in for trout fishing. Eravikulam National park is another tourist attraction where you can spot the Nilgiri Thar, a rare mountain goat. In the evening, you can visit the local market. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Drive to Kochi
In the morning, we drive to Kochi. On arrival, check into the hotel and relax. In the evening enjoy the Kathakali dance show - a traditional dance form that must be seen when you travel to Kerala, India.
Day 11: Tour Kochi
In the morning, we take you on a guided tour through Kochi, where you will see the Jewish Synagogue (built in 1568, this is the oldest synagogue in the Commonwealth and is adorned with hundreds of exquisite hand-painted Chinese tiles in blue and white), St. Francis Church (built in 1503, also known as the oldest European church in India, where Vasco de Gama was buried) and the Dutch Palace. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 12: Departure from Kochi
We transfer you to the railway station or airport, where you can catch the connecting train/flight to your onward destination, at the end of your Kerala Sea and Spice Tour.
