Kerala India Tour HIGHLIGHTS
- Duration: 19 Nights and 20 Days
- Places to be covered: Mumbai, Trivandrum,
Kovalam, Cape Comorin, Kovalam, Varkala, Kumarakom,
Periyar, Kottayam, Backwater, Alleppey, Cochin, Calicut,
Treehouse, Ooty, Mysore, Bangalore.
Day 1: Arrival in Mumbai
On the first day, as you arrive at Mumbai International
Airport, India, our company representative will be there
to welcome you. He will be standing in the visitor's hall,
with a placard bearing your name. He transfers you to the
hotel and completes all the check-in formalities. Upon
arrival at the hotel, the guests are welcomed in
traditional Indian style with aarti-tikaa and
garlands. That night is spent in the hotel.
Day 2: Tour Mumbai
The second day can be spent on touring Mumbai wherein
you can visit notable attractions of the city that include
Dhobi Ghat, Crawford market, Marine drive and old mansions
of the Colaba area. A half-day trip to Elephanta cave is
also in the schedule where you get to feel the charm of
ancient sculptures.
Day 3: Fly to Trivandrum
On the third day, you are transferred to the airport
from where you travel on a flight to Trivandrum, the
capital of Kerala, India. As you reach Trivandrum, you are
transferred to a hotel in Kovalam. Later during the day,
you can enjoy the day in the sand or pamper yourself with
an herbal, body-toning massage.
Day 4: Visit Cape Camorin
On the morning of the fourth day, you will travel to
Cape Comorin, where you can visit Padmanabhapuram Palace &
Archaeological museum. In the evening, you are driven back
to Kovalam where you spend the night at the hotel.
Day 5: Travel to Varkala
On the fifth day, after breakfast you begin your journey
to Varkala. Varkala is one of the un-spoilt beach resorts
of India. Varkala, a small seaside town in Kerala, has
been a Hindu pilgrimage site since the 12th Century. To
this day, the 800 hundred-year-old Janardhana Temple
remains a popular pilgrimage spot. Varkala is also blessed
with an unspoilt, golden beach, lapped by the waters of
the Indian Ocean. Once in Varkala, you can go in for
various body therapies.
Day 6: Travel to Kumarakom
On the sixth day, you travel down to Kumarakom in a
speedboat or a luxury cruiser from Varkala. Kumarakom is a
beautiful backwater village on the shores of the
enchanting Vembanad Lake, cris-crossed with meandering
waterways and ancient cottages, sure to enchant you, when
you travel to Kerala, India.
Day 7: Laze at Kumarakom
On the seventh day, the entire day is at your disposal
where you can relax and enjoy the facilities of the
resort.
Day 8: Travel to Periyar
On the eighth day, you travel to Periyar. Periyar,
sprawling across 777 sq. kms of Cardamom Hills, is home to
one of the largest wildlife reserves in India, which you
can see when you travel to Kerala, India. Alive with
exotic flora and vibrant wildlife, it is the perfect
getaway tucked away among green hills. In the afternoon,
you can take a boat cruise on the Lake of the famous
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary to see the wild life. Periyar
Lake, created by a dam on Periyar River, is the heart of
the Wildlife Sanctuary where you can see wild elephants,
Asiatic Deer, Black Buck and even Tigers, who come to the
shores of the lake for a drink.
Day 9: Spend the day at Periyar
The ninth day is also spent at Periyar, where you get to
see tigers at the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Trekking with a
local guide helps you get familiar with the rare birds,
trees & flowers. You can even take a walk through the
plantations filled with heady fragrance of fresh spice. A
boat safari on the Periyar Lake, in Kerala, India, extends
a lifetime's chance to spot exotic wildlife in its natural
habitat - like the eccentric bathing habits of the wild
elephants, who always come to the lake to have a bath.
Thereafter, you can explore the neighboring spice market
at leisure, when you travel to Kerala, India.
Day 10 & 11: Travel down to
Kottayam
On the 10th day morning, you are driven down to Kottayam
from where you will embark on the traditionally decorated
houseboats. Here you will begin a two-night backwater
cruise that will end on day 12 morning at Alleppey.
Day 12: Transfer to Cochin
On the 12th day, you will be picked up from Alleppey and
transferred to a hotel in Cochin. In the afternoon, you
can go on a city tour, which covers Jewish Synagogue, St.
Francis Church and the Dutch Palace. In the evening, you
can enjoy a of Kathakali dance performance. This is the
classical dance form of Kerala, India.
Day 13: Travel to Calicut
On the 13th day morning, you will be driven to Calicut,
wherein you will check into a hotel. In the afternoon, you
will be taken on a guided city tour covering -
Pazhassiraja Museum, the Art Gallery and Krishna Art
Museum.
Day 14: A day at Calicut Tree house
In the Western Ghats among the Wyanad Hills in North
Kerala, at a distance of 65 kms from Calicut, lies the
biggest secret of Kerala - a tree house that stands 86 ft
from the ground, which you can see when you travel to
Kerala, India. You can enter this house by an indigenous
cane elevator. Once inside, you can spend your time in the
unusually beautiful accommodation.
Day 15: Explore the places around the
tree house
On the 15th day, you can explore the places in and
around the tree house or simply while away your time at
the tree house enjoying the beauty of nature that is just
an arm's length away
Day 16: Drive to Ooty
On the 16th day morning, you travel to Ooty. On arrival,
you will check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is at
your disposal.
Day 17: Explore Ooty
On the 17th day, you are free to explore Ooty, the
picturesque hill station of South India.
Day 18: Drive to Mysore
Early 18th day morning, you will travel to Mysore, where
you will check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, you will
be taken on a city tour where you get to see the Maharajas
Palace and the beautiful Vridavan Gardens.
Day 19: Travel to Bangalore
In the morning, again you will be taken on a city tour,
after which you will be driven to Bangalore. On arrival,
you will check in at the hotel.
Day 20: Travel to Mumbai
In the morning, you will be taken on a city tour around
Bangalore, followed by a transfer to the airport to catch
the flight to Mumbai. On arrival you will be taken to a
hotel where you can wash and change. Later, after dinner
you will be transferred to the airport to catch the flight
to your onward destination at the end of your Kerala
and West Coast Tour. |
