Palakkad is a beautiful place to visit. There are many tourist attractions in Palakkad. Chittur Gurumadam is built in the memory of Thunchath Ezhuthaxhan who spent the last days of his life here. Some of the old manuscripts are exhibited here and are worth a watch. Kapapathy Temple is one of the oldest Shiva temples. Palakkad fort was built by Mysore Haider and was taken over by British and is beautiful.

The Pattambi Nercha, a fest, of Mosque Pattambi is not worth missing. The Malampuza is a famous picnic spot in the lower hills of the Western Ghats. Dam and a garden add to the beauty of Palakkad. Travel to Palakkad and get to know more about this beautiful destination.

Location of Palakkad - Palakkad is located at the foot of the Western Ghats. Most of the areas are in the hills and some of it are scattered in the hillocks. Bharathapuzha flows through Palakkad. The district of Palakkad is beautiful with many fertile plains. The district is considered to be Granary of Kerala.

Palakkad Excursions - Attappady, a highland terrain is situated at about 40 kms from Palakkad. At the base of Dhoni hills lies the forest area with beautiful waterfalls. It is a trek of 3 hours from Palakkad. Mangalam Dam is constructed on the river Cherukunnapuzha which is located at 48 kms away. This is become a popular picnic spot. Nelliyampathy ranges which are 75 km away from Palakkad the silent valley national park is worth a watch at 75 km from Palakkad.

The Kanjirepuza, Kottayi, Malayalappuzha, Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary are all worth a watch while visiting Palakkad. The Palakkad had many attractions also the nearby places are worth a watch. Thousands of people visit Palakkad every year.
