Rajasthan Vacation Tour

THE TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

  • Duration: 11 Nights and 12 Days
  • Places to be covered: Delhi - Agra - Jaipur - Mandawa - Bikaner - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur.

Day 1: Arrival at Delhi

Our company representative will meet you on your arrival in Delhi and then he will transfer you to the hotel and fulfill all the check-in formalities.

Day 2: Sightseeing of Delhi

The next day is spent in touring Delhi and visiting all the places of interest. The major attractions of Delhi include Red Fort, Qutab Minar, Raj Ghat, Lotus Temple, Museums…A guide will be there to explain the significance and importance of each and every tourist spot.

Day 3: Drive to Agra

On the third day, we drive you to Agra via Sikandra. Once you reach Agra, you can check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, we take you on a sight-seeing tour through the city, which includes the world-famous Taj Mahal.

Day 4 : Drive to Jaipur

After breakfast, we drive down to Fatehpur Sikri, which is situated close by. Fatehpur Sikri used to be the capital of the Mughal rulers from 1571 to 1585, before it was shifted to Agra due to lack of water resources. It is a deserted, red Sandstone City built by Emperor Akbar in the late 16th century. It a veritable fairytale city and its "ruins" are in pristine condition ... it's not hard to imagine what the court life must have been like in the days of it's grandeur. Also we take you to Bulund Darwaza, the largest gateway in the world.

Once the sight-seeing is over, we drive down to Jaipur, the Pink City of India, which is a four hour long drive.

The origins of the beautiful city of Jaipur can be traced back to the eighteenth century, when Jai Singh II who ascended the Amber throne in 1699 ruled the place. Jaipur today epitomizes the spirit of Rajputana. In-spite of growing into a bustling metropolis, it still retains it's character and history, in fact Jaipur is a beautiful fusion of the yesteryears and modernity. Popularly known as the Pink City because of the extensive use of the locally abundant pink plastered stone, painted so in honor of the visit of the royal consort of Queen Victoria, Jaipur thrills the soul with its massive forts, magnificent palaces, exquisite temples and lush gardens.

Once you reach Jaipur, after checking in at the hotel, you are free to roam about and explore the city.

Day 5: Guided Tour of Jaipur

In the morning, at around 8 am, the guide will meet you at the hotel to take you on a tour through the Pink city. During this tour, you get to visit the impressive Amber Fort (12 Kms. from Jaipur). At the foot of the hills, you even get to mount on to an elephant for a slow but steady climb upto the main gate.

Tbhen we visit the Amer Fort, which is set in a picturesque location. This fort is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh, this fort has a perfect blend of red sandstone in white marble and possess some very interesting apartments, the likes of which are not to be found anywhere else in the country. Besides this, Jai Mandir, Sheesh Mahal, Sukh Niwas and Ganesh Pole are other prominent areas of interest that you can visit.

You can also visit the imposing Maharajah's City palace, which is still the home of the Maharaja, though several rooms have been thrown open to public. You can also visit the Hawa Mahal, the ornamental facade of this "palace of winds," which is a landmark in Jaipur. Its five storey structure of pink sandstone encrusted with fine trellis work and balconies has 953 niches and windows.

Day 6: Drive to Mandawa

In the morning, we drive down to view the elaborately painted houses and fortress of Mandawa. Once you check in at the hotel, the afternoon is also spent in touring and exploring Mandawa.

Day 7: Drive to Bikaner

The next day, we drive you down to Bikaner, another outpost of the once great Camel Caravan routes to the West. Once you check in at the hotel, you can go ahead and visit the fairy-tale Junagarh Fort.

Day 8: Drive to Jaisalmer

The next day, we drive to the 800 years old desert city of Jaisalmer. Once you reach there and check in at the hotel, you have the day at your disposal.

Day 9: Tour Jaisalmer

The next day is spent in touring the city of Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is situated in the heart of the Great Indian Desert and its temple, fort and palaces are all built of yellow stone. In fact, Jaisalmer is a commanding fort etched in yellow sandstone stands, whose awesome splendor dominates the amber-hued city.

You can start the sightseeing trip by touring the fascinating old trading town while towards the sunset, you can enjoy a camel ride across the desert and the setting sun paints the sands a golden orange.

Day 10: Drive to Jodhpur

Early in the morning, we drive you to Jodhpur. Once you check in at the hotel, then the afternoon is at your disposal.

Jodhpur, set at the edge of the Thar Desert, echoes the tales of antiquity in the emptiness of the desert. The powerful Rathor clan had ruled the Kindgom of Jodhpur for a long period. The Rathors trace their ancestry back to Lord Rama, the hero of the epic Ramayana. Jodhpur today is the second largest city of Rajasthan with a population of 6,50,000.

Day 11: Tour Jodhpur

In the morning, we take you on a sightseeing tour of the Meherengarh Fort and the old Bazaar. In the evening, we travel back to Delhi by train.

Day 12: Departure from Delhi

Once you arrive in Delhi, we transfer you to a hotel where you can relax till it is time to leave for the airport to catch the flight to onward destination.
